Top Health screening tests for men
There are seven recommended health screening tests that all men should consider
performing in the interest of their excellent health and long life.
The seven tests may not apply to all men. But for four of these tests, all males of various ages are eligible.
Cholesterol Health Screening Tests
Most men do not believe they have high cholesterol and do not take
the time to have it checked.
For most men, you should have your cholesterol checked every five years from age 35.
But, if you smoke, have diabetes, or have heart disease in your family,
you should start the test at age 20. Also, if you are overweight,
you must pass this check now, regardless of age.
Test your blood pressure

High blood pressure has no symptoms, and you won’t even know you have

Colorectal Cancer Screening Tests
At age 50, routine colorectal cancer screening should begin.
There is more than one type of test available, so don’t chicken out. Just do it.
Your doctor will do a diabetes test on you if you have high blood pressure,
high cholesterol, or both.
If you are overweight,
your doctor will probably do this screening and cholesterol testing.
Prostate Cancer Screening
Discuss with your doctor the possible advantages and disadvantages of prostate cancer
screening if you are considering a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test or a rectal exam (DRE).
Sexually Transmitted Diseases
With your doctor, you must be completely open about this.
You should also consider an HIV problem if you have already received a blood transfusion.

Screening for Depression
Following sexually transmitted illnesses is arguably the most contentious topic.
Many men have been led to “bite the ball” and keep silent about the problems they meet.
Women have often complained that their guys don’t share interests.
Everyone occasionally goes through periods of depression; for most people,
these periods only last a few days, and it is easy to say why you are depressed.
There are some “acceptable” reasons for depression –
loss of a job, illness or death of a loved one, or stress at work, to name a few.
But, if you feel sad or desperate, have little I or pleasure in doing things,
or want to e time for two consecutive weeks, talk to your doctor.
You may find that with some help, you can regain your everyday happiness.
Don’t take any antidepressants prescribed by your doctor.
Taking pills without doing anything to change the situation or your attitude will only worsen
the case in the long term. Remember,
guys; real men take care of themselves to take care of others.
