Stridor is different.

It is usually a loud, high pitched sound heard more during breathing in.

The airway still needs proper assessment.

Why Does Reflux Become Worse After Lying Down?

Gravity helps keep stomach contents lower while you are upright.

That help decreases when you lie flat.

If you have known reflux, avoiding lying down soon after eating is a sensible part of your reflux plan.

What Is Spirometry?

Spirometry measures how much air you can blow out and how quickly you can blow it out.

It is widely used when asthma or COPD is suspected.

Can a Pulse Oximeter Diagnose the Cause?

No.

A pulse oximeter measures oxygen saturation.

It does not tell you why you are wheezing.

Do not use one reassuring home number to dismiss significant breathing difficulty.

Your symptoms matter more than one gadget reading.

What Can You Do Tonight if the Wheezing Is Mild?

Start with what you already know.

Use prescribed medicine exactly as directed.

Move away from smoke or a known trigger.
